I believe that personal development programs are fun, exciting, and tremendously rewarding. It is about getting past your personal blockages to allow you to discover who you truly are. You learn how to live your life as an outward expression of your inner self. The process of discovery as well as the process of getting your life actions to be congruent with your internal desires are processes that create long term positive growth.

A common problem for a lot of people is not knowing what to do with their lives. Without a life purpose, you end up feeling directionless and lost. Feeling that way makes it difficult to create personal development plans. In my opinion, not knowing what you are supposed to do with the rest of your life is OK. After all, the rest of your life is a mighty long time and it is a tall order to expect to have it all figured out right NOW...

Every Sunday, as I think about the upcoming week, I envision that THIS week will be THE week for when I will finally eat better, exercise more, and be less stressed. I can see myself eating salads every day and jogging on the beach at night. I stand sideways in the mirror and suck in my stomach, imagining how flat my tummy will be by this time next week. These self motivation techniques get me hopeful and I start having motivational thoughts such as, "This is the week that I will eat healthier, get more exercise, and be a happier person."
