Perception Is Reality

Perception is reality and it is one of the key components of achieving whatever it is that you desire. Perception, which is the way that you view a situation, relationship, or the world, plays a large role in behavior. The way we see the world is our perception illusion and it influences your behavior.

How you view a situation is a factor in deciding how to respond to the situation. Therefore, one of the best ways to make real, lasting change in behavior is to examine and potentially change your perceptions. Look at how you see the world and then decide if how you perceive it is really working for you.

If you don't have self-respect, love, or the job that you want, ask yourself, deep down, if your self perception is that you are unlovable. The answer may surprise you.

Remember, your perception is reality. For example, there was a time in my life when I was living on a very tight budget. I felt it so keenly every time I could not go out to dinner or buy new jeans or fly home for holidays. I began to perceive myself as someone who could not afford to spend money on anything other than the bare necessities. After graduation, I went to work at a Fortune 500 company, but my perception of scarcity did not go away. It did not matter how much my paychecks were; it was never enough money. I felt poor.

Your perception is reality: the way that you see your world, situation, or problems is influenced by your image of yourself. As you change and grow, the world will change and growth right along with you. How you are and how you feel about yourself plays a big role in how you see the world.

Your perception of the world is just that - yours - it is not, in fact, the absolute way the world is. Everyone sees the world through their own perceptions. Everyone sees the world as they think it is, not how it actually is.

In order to change your current situation, your attitude and your behavior needs to change. However, superficially changing your attitude and behavior won't create long lasting, fulfilling change. In order to create life changes that will truly "stick", you must change yourself by changing your perceptions.

A change in perception is powerful because it allows for monumentous change in your life. I am talking about the substantial, truly fulfilling, life altering difference that, if you are reading this article, you likely want. Acting differently is a short term fix. Eventually, the old habits emerge because they are the ones that ring true for you.

It is damn difficult to behave in ways that don't feel "right" for who you are. That is why, if you want to create powerful breakthroughs in your life, you have to change who you are first.

Keys to working on perception:

1. Your attitude, your behavior, and your self perception must all be aligned. All three of these components are interrelated and working on just one (attitude, for example) is an ineffective waste of time. This is because in order for things to be different, you must see differently, and in order to see differently, you have to be different.

2. Stop trying to work on just your behavior (trying harder to accomplish a task, for example) as you may be working harder to get to a result that you don't want.

3. Work on yourself. It all starts with you and your own self perception. Love, respect, and enjoy who you are and make a commitment to do the same with others. Your sense of self and your security are acheived internally, not in the world outside of you. Your perception of yourself and your perception of your reality are connected - your perception is reality.

As you perceive, so shall your reality be.

After Years of Misery from Anxiety and Depression, I Gained My Life Back

Exhausted? Stressed-out? Overwhelmed?

Hi,

Courtney here, author of this site. When I developed anxiety and depression, I went to a psychologist, a psychiatrist and a physician, and to be truthful, in my experience, these people couldn't really help.Therapy sessions, yoga and getting more exercise lessened my anxiety symptoms, but did not stop them for good.

In fact, I later learned that because I was living in a constant state of low-level stress and anxiety, the chemicals in my brain had changed, making me more anxious and depressed. Clearly, merely managing my symptoms was not enough - in fact, following "the doctor's orders" made things worse....
