Motivation To Exercise
There was a time in my life when it was hard to find the motivation to exercise. I knew I should exercise, but I just didn't feel up to it. I thought exercise was hard work and I just didn't have the energy to do it.
That all changed when I stopped thinking of it as hard work and starting focusing on the positive. When it's fun, finding the motivation to exercise is easy.
The best exercise is the kind you will do consistently day-in and day-out. Find something that will give you the motivation to exercise daily.
For me, it is easy to have the motivation to excerise when I am outdoors, intertacting with friends, or sneaking in exercise while doing house chores.
Listen to some music and dance around the house.
Do sit-ups while talking on the phone
Take a brisk walk with a friend
Go dancing
Practice yoga. It is great for muscle tone, flexibility, and relaxation.
When shopping, take an extra lap around the mall before heading back to the car.
Go for a swim in the community pool, a lake, or the ocean
Take a long walk on the beach
Go for a run with your dog
Play frisbee
Do 30 pushups as soon as you wake up. It will invigorate you.
Have some friends over and play Wii
Do 50 calf raises while washing the dishes
Did you know that you are supposed to take 2 minutes to brush your teeth? Work in some leg squats and leg lifts while you brush.
Play doubles tennis
Shoot some hoops
When working, make a conscious effort to stand instead of sitting. It promotes better posture and you burn more calories standing than sitting.
Jump rope during TV commercials. It is one of the most effective total body exercises you can do.
Read a book or your favorite magazine while riding a stationary bike. The time will fly by.
