Lack of Motivation

How to Get Over a Lack of Motivation and Accelerate Productivity:

Productivity has many forms and ways of being measured. Generally speaking, it means taking actions that lead to an specific and desired outcome or an achievement. The actions can be internal, in the form of your thoughts, or external in the physical world, like cleaning the house or finishing a big project at work. Some people confuse this with being busy, which makes them feel accomplished or important.

The key to getting past a lack of motivation in order to accelerate productivity is to focus on your internal effectiveness. Basically, once you have figured out the internal stuff, then the external results will naturally follow and you will produce in the physical world the types of results that are congruent with who you are internally.

What I am talking about is figuring out how to live your life so that you can be the best "you" possible. Getting past a lack of motivation means that you can productively be who you want to be and do what you truly want to do.

It is how effective you can be at being you.

Recognize that being you is a good thing. The fact that you are here, that there is a "you", that you have meaning, a purpose, and you are significant. There is nothing wrong with you; there are no deficiencies. One of my favorite self motivation tips is to take your thoughts off of what happened in the past and just be present with me for a few minutes. In this precise present moment, you are whole and you lack nothing.

Just sit with what I am saying for three seconds and notice how good you feel. Really experience the sensations of joy, bliss, happiness, and contentment inside. Notice how your body feels - are there tingles in your chest? Is there a smile on your face? It might be the best three seconds that you have felt in a long time.

Feeling that good can be a regular part of your life. It is possible to experience those feelings and to have those sensations on a regular basis. When you are in a happy, meditative state and when you are in the moment, enjoying life, you feel bliss. You might get a nagging feeling that being in bliss isn't productive, that you aren't striving for a goal or that you aren't acheiving anything.

But, the opposite is actually true. The power of being in bliss is that it allows for new thoughts and actions to come to the surface. It allows you to live a life that is congruent with your inner desires and enables you to take steps towards fulfilling those desires.

In bliss, you have more energy, you feel more harmonious with the world, and you fell more balanced; your lack of motivation has vanished. This leads you to interact with people in a loving way. This is key. You interact in new, more authentic ways which allows you to be the type of person you truly want to be and to have the types of relationships that you truly want to have. The instant you shift into a happy state of being, you have become truly, effectively productive in being you.

It is like coming full circle. As you achieve bliss, satisfaction, and appreciation for the present moment, you are the person you wanted to become and you have all that you wanted to have.

In other words, the irony is that you have actually acheived your desires and goals from a state of bliss instead of from a state of needing or disempowerment. Even though you feel like you are not achieving, because you are happy and blissful, instead of stressed and striving, you actually have created what you desire.
