Famous Motivational Quotations

Today, I wanted to share with you some famous motivational quotations that have made a significant impact on my life. Every morning, I select one as my daily positive thought. I read each day's quote silently and then again, outloud. I close my eyes and think of one way in which I can identify with the saying.

In a sense, I link motivational life quotes to my own personal memories. Throughout the day, instead of re-reading the quote, I re-play the memory associated with the quote. It is more powerful and impactful for me than reading the same quote over-and-over again. A quote that is bound to a special memory evokes stronger feelings of inspiration, enlightenment, hope, peace and joy.

A selection of my favorite famous motivational quotations:

"Gently remind yourself that life is okay the way it is, right now. In the absence of your judgment, everything would be fine. As you begin to eliminate your need for perfection in all areas of your life, you'll begin to discover the perfection in life itself." - Richard Carlson

"There is no duty we so much underrate as the duty of being happy. By being happy we sow anonymous benefits upon the world." - Robert Louis Stevenson

"The greatest discovery of my generation is that a human being can alter his life by altering his attitude." -William James

"Drink deeply. Live in serenity and joy." -Buddha

"You have a solemn obligation to take care of yourself because you never know when the world will need you." Rabbi Hillel

"Success means we go to sleep at night knowing that our talents and abilities were used in a way that served others." Marianne Williamson

"Quieten your mind. Reflect. Watch. Nothing binds you. You are free." Buddha

"What's a man's first duty? The answer is brief: to be himself." Henrik Ibsen

"Anyone who chooses to live their life in Loving can change the world." John-Roger

"Hope is te belief, more or less strong, that joy will come." Sydney Smith

"You will find, as you look back upon your life, that the moments when you really lived are the moments when you have done things in the spirit of love." Henry Drummond

"Despite everything, I believe that people are really good at heart." Anne Frank

After Years of Misery from Anxiety and Depression, I Gained My Life Back

Exhausted? Stressed-out? Overwhelmed?

Hi,

Courtney here, author of this site. When I developed anxiety and depression, I went to a psychologist, a psychiatrist and a physician, and to be truthful, in my experience, these people couldn't really help.Therapy sessions, yoga and getting more exercise lessened my anxiety symptoms, but did not stop them for good.

In fact, I later learned that because I was living in a constant state of low-level stress and anxiety, the chemicals in my brain had changed, making me more anxious and depressed. Clearly, merely managing my symptoms was not enough - in fact, following "the doctor's orders" made things worse....
