Two obstacles that I have faced throughout my life are fear of failure and the lack of self-confidence to face up to my fear. For most of my life, when fear would bubble up in my chest, I would say to myself, "Don't be afraid. You have nothing to fear. You will get through this." Those words helped a little bit, but they were not a good long term solution because every time the fear of failure arose, I would have to silently chant those words over and over...

The Secret to Building Self Confidence
I have learned that the more life challenges I endure, the stronger and more courageous I become. Being courageous fuels the growth of more courage. But, boosting self confidence is a different matter. Facing fear and being courageous does not directly fuel the growth of more self confidence. However, what does lead to more self confidence is feeling good about yourself. When you feel good about yourself, you are happier, more peaceful, more fulfilled, and more at ease with yourself. Self confidence can be used for every life situation (not just the scary ones, like courage)...

So, remember, figuring out how to be happy is as easy as being kind to yourself and to others. Practice doing good in order to feel good and notice the change in yourself. You will be boosting self confidence, developing deeper connections with others, and experiencing authentic happiness. Good luck!
